Incumbent Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Kogi State Chapter, Femi Alonge has said that the appointment of former Chairman, Ambassador Oladele John Nihi as returning officer for the forthcoming NYCN elections was well deserved and not a thing of surprise.
Stating this recently in his Lokoja Office, Alonge while congratulating Amb. Nihi, urged the latter to keep up the good work.
Amb. Nihi's appointment is a welcomed development. He is made his mark in the history of the youth council in Nigeria, that was why he deserved that position. It is not a surprise to me and I want to urge him to keep up the tempo.
We all know he's a very hard-working person. His appointment came as a result of the provisions of the NYCN constitution of 2018 as amended. As such, the national president has the power to appoint a returning officer to serve as chairman of the electoral committee and appointments of those that will work with him, he said.
Noting that many of the successes enjoyed by the present administration of NYCN in Kogi State were heralded by Amb. Nihi's strides in his tenure as NYCN chairman, he prayed the latter continued to increase in capacity.
We have leveraged on the legacies of my predecessor (Amb. Nihi) and so far so good, the council today has been positively transformed.
Alonge, speaking further on Amb. Nihi's appointment said: everybody knows Nihi, his pedigree; the stuff he's made of. I believe he will do justice to the whole process.
Recall that earlier this month, Amb.Oladele John Nihi was appointed by the National President of NYCN Amb. Sokubo Sara-Igbe Sokubo to serve as returning officer for the forthcoming Council elections in Kogi State.
